“HILDA”
(the hill holder for your chopper)

“HILDA” is an easy to fit kit with all you need to convert your hydraulic rear brake to operate as a hill holder WITHOUT leaving your foot on the brake!

“HILDA” has an electrically operated Hydraulic solenoid which will hold the brake on when stationary on a hill to prevent roll back.

It is specifically designed for you legends running foot clutch, jockey shift and no front brake!

How does it work???
Hill Holding
Simply press the small button once on the handlebars whilst you have the brake on. Now you can take your foot off the brake and the brake will stay applied until you press the button again.
As you start to ride the clutch to take off just press the button on the handlebars once and the brake will release!

Its that simple and makes those annoying hill stops a breeze.

No creep kick starting
(It will stop your bike from walking its way into the middle of the road while you are kick starting it!).
Just put your foot on the brake and press the switch on the handlebars once.
Now you can kick her all day long and she's staying put until you press the switch to release the rear brake!

What’s in the kit?
Small push button switch which screws directly into your handlebars
Control module
Wiring loom
Hydraulic solenoid and fittings
Brake line in stainless steel braid or black stainless steel braid & AN3 fittings (fit to measure)
Complete fitting instructions

What’s not in the kit!
**You will need AN3 tapered fittings on your brake components**
(If not already fitted to your bike these are available at your local bike shop)
**You will need to make a mounting bracket for the hydraulic solenoid**

“HILDA” is designed to be an additional safety feature to prevent roll back on hills and allow you to have the brake applied and still be able to have your foot on the ground.

Hill Holder Function:
1.If you have conventional foot clutch select neutral as you are slowing down for the hill stop.
2.If you have a rocker clutch simply select first gear and leave clutch in!
3.Put your foot on the brake and come to a stop placing your clutch foot on the ground.
4.Press the handlebar button - now “HILDA” is engaged and you are free to put your braking foot down.
5.When you are ready to go put the clutch in and select first gear.
6.Begin to ride the clutch.
7.Once you feel the drag from the clutch simply press the handlebar button and ‘HILDA” is released and you ride off with ease.
(This function is particularly handy when you have a passenger and need to have 2 feet down when stationary!).

“HILDA’S” module converts the small handlebar push button to an on off button, (1 press on, next press off) to engage the solenoid with a single push of the button.

“Hilda” has a built in feature that allows the brake to still be applied after the unit is switched on {this is great for the “no creep” function when kick starting the bike!).

“HILDA” is wired directly to battery positive so it can be engaged without the ignition being switched on. (This is so the bike can be “prime kicked” with the ignition off but “Hilda still functional).

No Creep Function:
1.press the switch on the handle bars once.
2.press the brake pedal. “Hilda” is now operational and will prevent creep when kick starting.
3.kick start with ignition off for priming.
4.switch ignition on and kick start the bike.
5.“HILDA” can be left engaged until you are ready to ride off.
6.Press the button on the handlebars again as you begin to ride the clutch and “HILDA” will disengage as you can ride away safely.

*NOTE*
“HILDA”has a built in safety feature so if it is is accidentally switched on while riding the brakes will still come on when applied! (The button must be pressed to release the brakes!).

It is imperative the the rider has complete understanding of the function of the “Hilda” system before attempting to use it.

It is recommended that the “pilot light” be fitted in an easily visible location so the operator is alerted to when it is in operation, this will prevent accidentally leaving switched on and flattening the battery!
(The headlight shell is one possible location!).

It is recommended that the unit be engaged for a maximum of 60 seconds!

It is highly recommended that the “HILDA” kit be installed professionally by a qualified mechanic to ensure correct operation and the safety of the rider!
